Mission #11 - Killer Wasp outside of doungeon1

Mission #14 is listed as "Mushroom man outside of forest." I have never come across the mushroom man. Instead, I have to kill the sword slayer in the lost chamber. Also, if you kill all five sword slayers in that chamber you will recieve the rank insignia for your eventual promotion. So where does the mushroom man come into play?
